Javed Akhtar, a noted writer, poet and lyricist of Hindi cinema, is always in the news due to his opinion on social issues. However, this time an IPS officer has given an interesting answer when questioned on the action taken by the police at Jamia Millia Islamia University in Delhi.
According to media reports, Javed Akhtar had questioned the action taken by the police on the students of Jamia University protesting against CAA. After that, IPS officer Sandeep Mittal has responded to Javed Akhtar and asked him about the act and section related to him.
Javed Akhtar had made a tweet earlier in the matter, in which he wrote to the police ,"According to the law of the land under any circumstances police can not enter any university campus with out the permission of the university authorities. By entering the Jamia campus with out permission police has created a precedence that is a threat to every university."
After his reply, IPS Sandeep Mittal tweeted - Dear Legal Expert Please elaborate the law of land, the section number and name of the Act etc so that we are also enlightened. Regards.
