Srinagar: Jammu Kashmir, especially the Kashmir Valley, has been under the grip of terrorism for a long time. Despite the massive military campaigns, the number of militants in the valley has not declined. Despite the strictness, they remain. According to the list of terrorists prepared by various security agencies, 273 terrorists are still active in the valley. At present, the maximum number of 158 terrorists are active only in South Kashmir and the least 19 are running their activities in Central Kashmir. Surprisingly, they have more local terrorists than foreign terrorists.

Earlier this year, the administration had reported 270 militants active in Kashmir, while 140 terrorists have been piled up during the last eight months. Despite this, the number of terrorists in Kashmir is 273. The list of terrorists active in the valley is constantly reviewed. In this list, only indigenous and foreign terrorists classified in A, B and C category are counted or those terrorists are included, which is undergoing classification process.

According to the list prepared on the basis of information of the army, police and other security agencies, at the beginning of the second fortnight of this month i.e. September, there are currently 273 terrorists active in the whole of Kashmir. Of these, 158 terrorists are active in four districts of South Kashmir - Kulgam, Anantnag, Shopian and Pulwama. At the same time, 96 militants are active in three districts of North Kashmir, Baramulla, Bandipora and Kupwara.

Only 19 terrorists are said to be active in central Kashmir based on three districts including Srinagar, Ganderbal and Budgam. According to this list, there are 166 local and 107 foreign terrorists in the Valley. Explain that after the removal of Article 370 in Kashmir, the Central Government is taking strict measures to maintain peace there.
