Srinagar: Indian Army JCO has died in an encounter between security forces and militants in the Thanamandi area of Rajouri district in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. According to reports, 3 to 4 terrorists are hiding in the forest area and security forces are giving a befitting reply to every single bullet of the terrorists. Sources said a jawan was injured in an encounter with militants in the Rajouri border district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.
A police official said that security forces had launched a search operation in the Thanamandi area after receiving information that the militants were hiding. The official said the search operation turned into an encounter when militants started firing at the security forces. He said the security forces have given a befitting reply to the terrorists.
On August 6, police gunned down two terrorists in the same area. There was an encounter between security forces and terrorists in Rajouri on August 6. Officials had said that police and security forces had cordoned off the Thanamandi forest area of the district and launched a search operation after receiving intelligence inputs. The encounter started after security forces reached the militants.
