NIA conducts major action in terror funding case, raids more than 40 hideouts

Jammu: NIA has taken major action in the terror funding case in Jammu and Kashmir. NIA raided about 40 places in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday with the help of Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF in connection with a case filed against banned outfit Jamaat-e-Islami. Raids are being conducted at the residence of Ghazi Moin-ul-Islam, a resident of Soura in Srinagar and Falah-e-aam trust in Naugam.

Raids are also going on at the residences of Mushtaq Ahmed Wani's son Ghulam Hasan Wani, Nazir Ahmed Raina's son Ghulam Rasool Raina, Farooq Ahmed Khan's son Mohammad Yakub Khan and Aftak Ahmed Mir, Ahmedullah Pare in Anantnag city. In Budgam district, raids are being conducted at the hideouts of several Jamaat leaders including Dr. Mohammad Sultan Bhat, Ghulam Mohammad Wani, and Gulzar Ahmed Shah from Soibug.

The residence of the former Jamaat President in Bandipora is being searched. He has been identified as Mohammad Sikander Malik's son Abdul Ghani Malik resident Gundpora. Similarly, raids are going on in several other cities including Ganderbal, Shopian, Kulgam, Baramulla, Pulwama, Ramban, Doda. The Central Government had banned the Jamaat-e-Islami organization for five years in 2019, but even after that, the activities of the organization were going on in Jammu and Kashmir. This is said to be the biggest ever action in the terror funding case of NIA.
