Jammu: The CBI has filed a case against several criminals on Tuesday after examining the records recovered during raids at the Jammu Municipal Corporation office last day. It also includes RB Education Trust, chairman of the Trust, former DC of Kathua, former Tehsildar, former deputy Tehsildar. In this case, the CBI is now conducting raids at a total of 9 places and searching for the culprits.
Raids are being conducted at three places in Jammu and six in Kathua, including the residence of RB Shikshan Sansthan and President of the Trust. It may be noted that the CBI had filed a preliminary enquiry on 25th June for investigation of land grabbing and corruption defects by the trust run by Chaudhary Lal Singh. Lal Singh had left the BJP after case of rape and murder of an eight-year-old innocent of Kathua' chemical factory.
In sanction of sale and purchase of the forest land, PE has been filed against the R B Education Trust of Kathua and unidentified public servants for investigation of allegations of illegal satisfaction and illegal consideration by the revenue and forest officers of Kathua city. According to PE, it has been alleged that such false certificates, which fall under the exemption category under the JK Agrarian Reforms Act, were used by the educational trust in its purchase. The preliminary enquiry says that a beneficiary trust of such alleged illegal activities is in possession of a large portion of the land in major violation of the limit fixed under the Jammu and Kashmir Agricultural Reforms Act, 1976.
