Jammu and Kashmir new update for COVID cases in last 24 hours

Jammu and Kashmir have recorded 573 new active cases of infection. The officials released data including 105 travelers, death toll raised to 2,008. 

The health officials said that the fresh COVID-19 cases from Jammu were 122 and 451 from the Kashmir division, on Sunday. Srinagar district recorded a maximum of 208 cases, including 62 travelers, followed by 92 in Jammu and 84 in Baramulla districts. Lt Governor administration in Jammu and Kashmir ordered the closure of schools up to 9th class for two weeks and 10th, and 12th classes for one week. However, two districts did not report any fresh cases, while seven other districts had cases in single digits. Budgam, Anantnag, Pulwama, Bandipora, Kupwara, Kulgam, Shopian, and Kathua were the other districts to register cases in double digits. 

The total number of positive cases risen to 132439. A total of 3574 are fresh positive cases, where 126860 have recovered. The number of cases recovered from novel coronavirus is 1,27,049 patients. Jammu recorded one death from the pandemic while two fatalities linked to the virus were reported from Kashmir in the past 24 hours, they said.
