Jammu and Kashmir Police Release Sketches of Four Terrorists Involved in Doda Attacks

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Police have released sketches of four terrorists involved in two recent attacks in the Doda district, offering a reward of Rs 20 lakh for information leading to their arrest. Authorities suspect the terrorists to be hiding in the upper areas of Bhaderwah, Thathri, and Gandoh.

The first incident occurred on Tuesday, when terrorists fired at a joint checkpoint manned by the 4 Rashtriya Rifles and police in Chattergalla, Bhaderwah. The following day, a search party in the Gandoh area was ambushed, resulting in injuries to seven security personnel, including a police officer.

The J-K police have assured that the identity of informants will remain confidential. They have urged the public to report any sightings or movements of these terrorists using the following contact numbers:

In response to these attacks, security measures have been heightened, and 'Naka' checkpoints have been intensified, with police conducting thorough vehicle inspections.

Earlier, a constable from the Special Operations Group (SOG) was injured in an encounter in the Doda district. According to the J-K police, "Today (June 12) at 20:20 hrs, an encounter started between security forces and terrorists at Kota Top, Gandoh, Doda. Constable Fareed Ahmed (973/D) of SOG Gandoh was injured during the operation at Kerloo Bhalessa. The encounter is ongoing, more details awaited."

These recent encounters are part of a series of terror attacks that have plagued the region since June 9. The incidents include the Reasi terror attack, the Kathua terror attack, and the Doda terror attack.

The string of violence began on June 9, when terrorists targeted a bus in Reasi, causing it to plunge into a gorge. This tragic event resulted in the deaths of at least nine pilgrims and injuries to 42 others.

The increased terror activities have prompted a robust response from security forces, aiming to restore peace and safety in the region.
