Tainted J&K DSP Davinder Singh dismissed from service

New Delhi: The government in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has fired suspended Jammu and Kashmir Police DSP Davinder Singh yesterday i.e. The General Administration Department of Jammu and Kashmir issued an order in this regard on Thursday removing Davinder Singh from his job in the interest of 'security of the state'. According to an order issued by the administration, two other government teachers have also been dismissed from their jobs.

It may be recalled that Davinder Singh was arrested from south Kashmir in January last year for aiding extremists. He was arrested from Qazigund town in south Kashmir on the Srinagar-Jammu highway. Davinder Singh was then on his way to Jammu. At that time, the terror group Hizbul Commander Syed Naveed, his associates Asif Rather and Imran were also present in his car. Davinder Singh, 58, was among the main policemen during his campaign against extremists in the Kashmir Valley in the 1990s.

Tell us that Davinder Singh is a resident of Tral Ilaque in Union Territory of Kashmir, also known as the stronghold of extremists. Burhan Wani, the top extremist commander who was the face of current extremism in Kashmir, was also associated with this case. In view of Davinder Singh's previous record, police officials said at the time of his arrest that he was very greedy for money and that this greed had forced him to help drug trafficking, extortion, car theft and even extremists.
