Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir High Court have reopened the file of the gruesome massacre of Hindus on 23 March 2003 in Nadimarg, Kashmir. Now the matter will be heard on September 15. In fact, 24 innocent Kashmiri Hindus were gunned down by Islamic terrorists disguised as an army. A case was registered in this regard and an investigation was started. But, the witnesses had fled the Valley due to panic, after which the trial of the case was stalled. But now after almost 19 years, now the High Court has issued orders to reopen this case.
Let us tell you that on 23 March 2003, when this massacre took place, at that time a Rosa cricket match was being played between India and Pakistan. The whole country was busy watching cricket matches. In the meantime, Islamic terrorists entered the village in the dark of night and called everyone out by taking their names and then stood at one place and fired them with bullets. This day was also Martyrs' Day and the Indian public was remembering the sacrifices of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev, while Pakistani terrorists blinded by religious fanaticism were playing Holi with the blood of Hindus. It is also worth noting that the National Day of Pakistan is celebrated on 23 March.
The dead included a 70-year-old elderly woman to a 2-year-old innocent child. Crossing the limits of cruelty, 11 women, 11 men and 2 children, including a handicapped, were fired from close range. Reports claim that Hindus were shot in the head from point blank range. After this, the terrorists looted their houses and took the women's jewellery. Nadimarg (now in Pulwama) in the Shopian district was a Hindu majority village, where only 54 people lived.
Local Muslims had helped the terrorists:- According to the report, the terrorists had received aid from neighbouring Muslim-majority villages. Kuldeep Khoda, who was handling the Intelligence Wing of Jammu and Kashmir Police during that time, says that without local help, the Nadimarg massacre could not have been carried out. Witnesses to the massacre say that the terrorists had thrown out the Hindus from their homes by calling them by their names. It is clear from this that the terrorists were already working on this plan. The role of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Sarkar in this entire massacre was also doubtful. Nadimarg was just 7 Km away from the native village of CM Mufti Mohammad. But on the night of the massacre, the police guarding the area were also withdrawn. There were 30 security personnel stationed there before the incident, whose number was reduced to five that night. Today, after 19 years, the hope of justice has revived among those who lost their everything that night. Now it remains to be seen whether those Hindus get justice and terrorists get punishment or not?
