Chandrapur: Five children drowned in the Mendha canal in Maharashtra's Chandrapur. Although 4 of these children were rescued, one young woman drowned. The case is from Aswala in Savli tehsil. It is being said that these children had gone to the canal to wash clothes with their mother, at the same time 4 children got down to bathe in the canal, but due to the fast flow of water, the four children started drowning.

Seeing her siblings drowning, 11-year-old Kajal Makkewar jumped into the canal to save them, but she also started flowing in the strong current of water. Hearing the noise of the people present there, a worker passing by immediately jumped into the canal and with great courage, 4 children were safely taken out of the canal. However, Kajal, who went to save her brothers due to this, drowned.

All these children were 8 to 13 years old. These include Rohit, a student of Class 7, Anil Medpalliwar, a student of Class 5, and Rahul, a student of Class 8. However, Kajal Makkewar, a class 5 student, was washed away in the strong current of water and could not be saved. Kajal's body has not been recovered yet and the police are conducting a search operation for it.
