Srinagar: The encounter between security forces and militants has taken place in Anantnag in Jammu and Kashmir since early morning. Security forces have cordoned off around 2 to 3 militants in Nowgam Shahbad in Anantnag district. It is reported that one of the terrorists has been killed by security forces. However, his body has not been recovered yet.
The terrorist who is killed is identified as Mohammed Iqbal, the Jaish e Mohammed terrorist. As such it is a great success of security forces. The firing from both sides is currently underway. A joint team of security forces have cordoned off the area as the militants are suspected to be hiding in the area. Security forces were reported to be hiding 2 to 3 terrorists. It may be noted that Indian security forces have piled up more than 100 militants in Jammu and Kashmir this year till June 6. Sources linked to the military have confirmed this.
According to news agency ANI, the security forces have so far piled up 103 militants in 2019, while 254 militants were killed in the year 2018. Pakistan, as of June 6, violated the cease-fire 1,170 times, while in 2018, Pakistan had broken the ceasefire by 1,629 times.
