Tokyo: Former Japanese PM Shinzo Abe has been shot dead during an event on Friday. The attack has been confirmed by local media reports and now a video of the attack on Abe has also surfaced. The attack took place at around 11:30 a.m. in Japan's western region of Nara, when Abe was delivering a speech at an event ahead of Sunday's upper house election. Soon after, a 41-year-old man was detained. At the same time, according to local media reports, it is being told that Abe has died, he was 61 years old.

According to the information, the name of the attacker is 'Yamagami Tetsua,' a former member of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF). Along with this, he has also worked as an assistant professor at a local university. Tetsua fired two shots at former Prime Minister Abe from behind, one on Abe's left chest and the other on his neck. According to the report, the shooter used a handmade gun to attack Abe. The gun used for the attack was wrapped with black tape and hidden. Let us know that the process of getting a license to get a Charlotte Barrel shotgun in Japan is quite complicated. In such a situation, it is not yet known where the attacker got the gun from.

Let me tell you that both gun violence and political violence are rarely seen in Japan. A security police team was present with Shinzo Abe, but the shooter managed to get very close to him. Police have now arrested the attacker.
