Japanese Delegation Bolsters Gujarat Ties in High-Level Meet

Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit: Japanese Delegation Strengthens Ties with Gujarat in High-Level Visit - Gandhinagar: A delegation of 18 members from Japan's Shizuoka Prefecture conducted a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Wednesday, underscoring bilateral ties. Atsuyuki Rachi, a member of the Shizuoka Prefectural Assembly and Secretary General of the India-Japan Friendship Parliamentary League, led the delegation.

Discussions focused on the longstanding collaboration between Japan and India in education, research, tourism, and culture, as well as commercial relations with Gujarat.

Shizuoka Prefecture, known as a prominent hub for Japan's manufacturing industry, particularly in automobiles like Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda, and Toyota, was highlighted by the delegation. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel warmly welcomed the delegation, praising the flourishing India-Japan relations under Prime Minister Modi's leadership. He expressed confidence in further strengthening these ties in Gujarat.

Emphasizing the alignment of India's 'Make in India' initiative with Japan's renowned 'Made in Japan' quality, Patel affirmed their commitment to environmental sustainability and high-quality products, following the Zero Defect-Zero Effect mantra. He assured the delegation of a conducive environment for Japanese industries in Gujarat, highlighting the government's proactive support for seamless operations and continued progress in Indo-Japan relations.

Patel also commended Japan's significant role as a partner country in the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit. Atsuyuki Rachi extended an invitation to Chief Minister Patel to visit Japan and Shizuoka Prefecture, noting their Governor's interest in visiting India and Gujarat soon. He expressed readiness to sign an MOU aimed at bolstering trade and industrial cooperation between Gujarat and Shizuoka.
