BJP senior leader and Union Minister Prakash Javadekar on Friday skipped to categorically name the Chief Ministerial candidate of the AIADMK-BJP alliance in Tamil Nadu though the ruling party has already announced that K Palaniswami would be its CM face for the 2021 Assembly polls. Minister skipped question whether his party endorsed the ruling AIADMK naming Chief Minister Palaniswami as the CM candidate for TN Elections 2021 and who is the CM nominee of the NDA alliance, led in the state by the ruling party.

To a question on AIADMK making it clear that BJP was its ally and whether he would admit AIADMK to be continued as his party's partner (since the saffron party's leadership here has been saying that the matter would be decided by the high command), he said Tamil Nadu leadership 'is correct' on the matter. Minister referred AIADMK leader Navaneethakrishnan who was present at the occasion and said it is 'important.'

BJP, who is a junior partner in the AIADMK-led alliance in Tamil Nadu, is lethargic in immediately endorsing the candidature of Chief Minister K Palaniswami as the CM nominee of the entire coalition has led to speculations in social media, including accusations of  'arm twisting' by the saffron party. Minister stated that the “BJP is rising” and the “Congress is diminishing”, Javadekar listed nine elections where the BJP improved its performance such as in Bihar, Jammu-Kashmir and Hyderabad, among others. “From the analysis of these nine poll results, I’m confident that the BJP will show a stellar performance in Tamil Nadu elections also,” said Javadekar.
