Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel Acknowledges Former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru's  Role in Chandrayaan-3

Chandrayaan-3 is on the brink of etching an enduring imprint in history as it prepares to achieve a successful landing on the untrodden southern expanse of the Moon. Bhupesh Baghel, the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, commends the profound significance of this accomplishment, attributing it to the foresight of India's inaugural Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru.

The stewardship of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), the agency entrusted with Chandrayaan-3, was initiated under Nehru's guidance in 1962. During that era, it bore the name Indian National Committee for Space Research (INCOSPAR).

India stands on the threshold of becoming the fourth nation to conquer such a feat, following the trails blazed by the United States, Russia, and China. However, India's distinction lies in its distinct aspiration to make contact with the lunar south pole, a realm that no other nation has embarked upon.

With a pivotal juncture scheduled for August 23 at 6:04 PM, Chandrayaan-3's Lander Module, comprised of the Vikram lander and the Pragyan rover, is poised for a gentle touchdown in the vicinity of the Moon's southern pole.

CM Baghel extols this attainment as a monumental triumph for the country, extolling the unswerving commitment of Indian scientists. "The foundational vision laid by Nehru Ji is now resonating globally," he conveyed, while also extending his best wishes to the scientific community.
