In the most recent episode of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10, Niti Taylor and choreographer Akash Thapa gave a special performance in honor of the actors Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. The actors' love affair was portrayed by the two, and their wedding was even staged. As a guest judge on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10 alongside Karan Johar, Madhuri Dixit, and Nora Fatehi, Ranbir's mother, actor Neetu Kapoor, can be seen in the episode. Neetu was seen crying and hugging Niti and Akash in a video that Colors TV posted after the dance performance.
The channel released a teaser video for the upcoming episode, dubbed "Kapoor special," on Thursday. The episode featured performances in honor of Ranbir Kapoor and his actress wife Alia, as well as other members of the Kapoor family. Niti appeared in the video dancing to the song Khuda Jaane from Ranbir and Deepika Padukone's first collaboration, Bachna Ae Haseeno, while donning a white and gold saree that resembled Alia's wedding attire and styling her hair similarly to Alia (2008).
Pink-clad Neetu Kapoor, who was visibly upset and hugging Niti and Akash after their performance, is seen in the video standing up from her seat. For their tribute to Alia and Ranbir, she also showered them with praise. A flood of fan feedback about the performance appeared in the comments section of Colors TV's posts on Twitter and social media. Niti's admirers praised her, with one writing, "I can't wait to see her whole performance." But according to some other comments, some viewers may not have liked the performance.

Ranbir and Alia wed in April. Alia had announced her pregnancy with their first child in June. Recently, on Dussehra, expecting mother Alia held a private baby shower and shared pictures from the event on Instagram. Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, the sister of Ranbir, and Neetu, the mother, had also shown the expectant parents photos from Alia's baby shower.
