Ranchi: Amidst the recent cabinet formation in Jharkhand, Chief Minister Champai Soren, accompanied by state Congress President Rajesh Thakur, arrived at Jharkhand Bhawan in New Delhi on Saturday.According to Jharkhand Congress President Rajesh Thakur, CM Soren is scheduled to meet Congress Chief Mallikarjun Kharge during his visit to the national capital.

Several MLAs, reportedly discontented about not securing positions in the cabinet, have also traveled to Delhi to address their concerns with Mallikarjun Kharge. Thakur emphasized, "Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren will be meeting Congress Chief Mallikarjun Kharge after the formation of the new cabinet. We will also meet other leaders of the party... The MLAs have come to Delhi to convey their issues." Dispelling speculations of a potential rift between Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Congress over the new cabinet, Basant Soren, brother of former Chief Minister Hemant Soren and a party leader, assured that any doubts among Congress MLAs have been clarified.

"No one is upset. They (Congress MLAs) had some doubts but all of that has been removed. Our family is united. Everyone is satisfied now. I am going to Delhi," Basant Soren stated. Despite the swearing-in of eight ministers in the new Champai Soren cabinet in Jharkhand, certain Congress MLAs expressed discontent, alleging that the expansion overlooked new faces, contrary to their expectations.

Congress MLA Dipika Pandey Singh asserted that they had voiced their concerns before the cabinet's oath-taking ceremony. "We demanded that if the new government was being formed and the cabinet was being reshuffled, then new faces should have been given a chance," Singh stated during media interactions.

Echoing similar sentiments, Congress MLA Anup Singh conveyed that the MLAs had apprised the Pradesh Congress Committee president of their concerns, emphasizing that their demand remained unchanged. "We are 12 people in total. We have shared our concern with our PCC president through a letter. Our demand is the same as before," Anup Singh remarked.

Chief Minister Champai Soren had previously allocated portfolios to ministers, reserving key departments like home and personnel for himself. Champai Soren assumed office as chief minister on February 2, and the coalition government secured a 47:29 majority in a floor test on February 5.
