Ranchi: Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren has launched a unique initiative to keep the environment healthy. He announced that in urban areas, the government will give five units of electricity free per tree to those families who will plant saplings on the premises of their house. Chief Minister Soren, while announcing this in his address as chief guest at the 73rd Van Mahotsav-2022, said that as long as there are trees in the premises or houses of such residents, they will continue to get this benefit. He also warned that keep in mind that this tree should not be a marigold or a rose plant, but a fruit-bearing or other tree.

CM Soren further said that the way we are climbing the stairs of development by tampering with nature, we are also inviting destruction. If the term is not adjusted, then human life will have to bear the brunt of it. He said that Van Mahotsav is not a one-day event. The Van Mahotsav should be every day because climate change is emerging as a big challenge all over the world.

CM Soren said that we need to be vigilant about climate change because human itself is responsible for natural imbalance and they will have to bear the consequences. CM Soren said that the name of this state is based on forests and Jharkhand is inhabited by the largest number of tribal people, whose life is spent around the forest, river, mountain and mountain.
