Ranchi: Jharkhand Education Minister Jagranath Mahto's health suddenly deteriorated on Saturday. He has been admitted to Medanta Hospital after complaining of vomiting. Where doctors have admitted him to ICU and started treating him. Doctors say there is some problem in their liver. The team of doctors is currently monitoring his health.

He was sent via Chennai Air Ambulance for better treatment after a lung infection in September 2020. He underwent a lung transplant at MGM Hospital. On June 14, Jagranath Mahto was brought back to Ranchi from Chennai under the supervision of two doctors from RIMS by a chartered plane. After resting for a few days that they had returned to work.
