Ranchi: Ration cardholders will be given a ration of May and June together in Jharkhand. The needy will be helped even if there is no ration card. By May 31, all ration cardholders will be given ration for the months of May and June. Dr Rameshwar Oraon, President of the State Congress Committee and Minister of State for Finance and Food Supplies, gave information about this while talking to reporters.

He said that last time in lockdown, the then Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan had decided to provide ration to other needy families besides ration cardholders. He will now hold discussions with Union Minister-in-charge Piyush Goyal in this regard. They will demand that ration be provided to all the poor. In Jharkhand, 5-5 kg of rice for the months of May and June will be delivered to the homes of 57 lakh cardholders and 13 lakh new ration card holders by May 31. Jharkhand government to provide foodgrains to other poor also.

Agriculture Minister Badal Patralekh said may 1 is Labour Day. Migrant labourers from different parts of the country are returning amid the increasing cases of the corona. Efforts will be made to provide employment to all these migrant labourers in the village panchayat itself through the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Rural Development.
