Ranchi: Jharkhand's Hemant Soren government has been accused of "discriminating" in the matter of allotting houses to MLAs. In this case, the Jharkhand High Court has issued a notice to the state government questioning why there are discrepancies in allotting houses to MLAs of various parties.

On a plea filed by BJP MLA Naveen Jaiswal, the court questioned the Jharkhand government as to why MLAs from various parties were being "discriminated" in housing allotment. A two-judge bench of the High Court has questioned the government as to how many MLAs have been allotted high class ' F ' type houses and what is the basis behind allotment of such accommodation?

Jaiswal's lawyer informed that the court also wanted to know about the rules framed for allotment of houses to MLAs of various political parties. The court questioned how many MLAs have been allotted high grade 'F' quarters. The lawyer told the court, "The single bench judgement said that the Soren government has not framed any rules for allotment of houses to ministers and MLAs. In the absence of rules, the Committee adopts discrepancies in allotment of houses to MLAs," he said.
