Ranchi: Protests are taking place in many places in support and opposition to the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). On Thursday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) took out a rally in support of CAA in Lohardaga, Jharkhand. During this time there has been stone pelting on the rally. A dozen workers have been injured in stone pelting in Lohardaga. BJP MP Sudarshan Bhagat, who was present on the occasion, said on the matter that this incident is condemnable, it should not have happened.
Arya Veer Dal, Jharkhand province in-charge Acharya Sharad Chandra Arya has said that we were taking out a peaceful rally, in this way stone-throwing is very unfortunate. At least a dozen people have been injured in stone pelting. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), BJP and other supporting organizations, which came out in support of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in Lohardaga, were rallying at the same time. People opposing CAA had already gathered in the streets and it is being told that the matter got heated after the rally rallies came in support and stone pelting took place.
Meanwhile, protests are taking place in many areas of the country against CAA. Like Shaheen Bagh in Delhi, the opposition of CAA and NRC has started in many other cities of the country. Similarly, the protest has started at the Gandhi crossroads of Benia Bagh in Varanasi.
