JAIPUR: The wait for 5G in Rajasthan is finally over after Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Saturday launched Reliance Jio 5G services in three towns starting in Jaipur.

In Bhamashah Techno Hub, the Chief Minister started high-speed Internet service by pressing the button. The company is launching this service in Rajasthan's Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur from Saturday.

The Chief Minister said on the programme that Rajasthan is using the maximum data, which has its own significance. He told Reliance officials that they now needed to set goals and bring 5G connectivity to every town, adding that the internet had turned into opium. They don't chat to themselves when five individuals are seated together. They simply lose themselves in the phone and the Internet.

Gehlot said that, Jio has revolutionised the phone industry. We were the first to allow Jio to swerve the rules and lay fibre optic cable.

Umesh Bhandari, the head of Reliance Rajasthan, said in the launch event that 5G service will be launched nationwide by December 2023. In Rajasthan, Jio has constructed 18,000 towers.

By the end of this month, Kota will also get 5G service, he said. After that, in February, consumers in Bikaner and Ajmer will also benefit from 5G service.
