On Valentine's Day, Jio, known for its playful jabs, took a light-hearted shot at Airtel's broadband service, Airtel Xstream. Encouraging users to consider Jio's 5G-based AirFiber instead, Jio playfully referenced Airtel's red-themed branding.
In a tweet, Jio addressed Airtel users, saying, "Dear @airtelindia users, This Valentine's, don't ignore the 'RED' flags in your relationship. It's time to move on from your 'Ex'-stream. Here's my number - 60008-60008. Call me maybe. #HappyValentinesDay #WithLoveFromJio."
This witty post quickly ignited a flurry of responses on social media.
Airtel didn't miss a beat and responded with a playful suggestion, advising users to explore all options before making a decision. "Sab kuch try karo, phir sahi chuno," Airtel X's handle cheekily replied, ending with "just saying."
However, some Jio users seized the opportunity to voice their complaints.
"Jio was like my toxic ex. Never showed efforts to look into the issues and fix the relationship. Also, the connection was never there," one user lamented in response.
This isn't the first time Jio has used Valentine's Day to make a point. Last year, amid the buzz surrounding 5G technology, Jio's tweet urged followers to opt for 'True' love rather than settling for a 'Plus' one.
