New Delhi: Santosh Kumar Manjhi 'Suman', a minister in the Bihar government and leader of Hindustani Awam Morcha, met Prime Minister Modi at Parliament House. In a meeting with the Prime Minister, he demanded the inclusion of the SC-ST Act in the 9th Schedule of the Constitution. Santosh Manjhi, son of former Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, said Bihar's development was discussed. The PM thinks well of the people of Bihar. They also have a good attitude towards Dalits and minorities in Bihar. Santosh Manjhi appealed to Prime Minister Modi to give Bharat Ratna to mountain man Dashrath Manjhi along with his appeal to SC-ST to provide reservation in the judiciary and private sector, where Manjhi said that his party Hindustani Awam Morcha is expected to contest the UP Assembly elections. This will be decided soon in consultation with the workers. Santosh Manjhi had also met UP CM Yogi Adityanath recently and extended his greetings. He has made it clear that his party is trying to contest with the BJP.

According to reports, Santosh Manjhi has also met CM Yogi and expressed his desire to contest some seats. He claims the seats in Purvanchal which are dominated by Manjhi though Manjhi's party is now gearing up for an organization in UP. It is also being said that if Manjhi comes along, the vote bank may not be affected much, but the perception will be greatly affected in response to the opposition party's response to the BJP being propagated as anti-Dalit.

It is learned that Mukesh Sahni, an ally of the NDA government in Bihar, also announced to contest the UP elections. He has also been harassed by the BJP over the issue. Now the Hindustani Awam Morcha's readiness to go to the polls with the BJP is showing a new kind of politics. It will now be interesting to see what impact Sahni and Manjhi's preparations for the UP elections have on upcoming politics.
