Srinagar: An encounter between security forces and militants is continuing in Surankot sector of Poonch in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. According to preliminary information, a joint team of army, CRPF and police cordoned off and launched a search operation. Security forces had received information that some suspects were hiding in the area.

When the terrorists hiding in the oat of trees in the forest saw the jawans approaching them, they started firing.

A terrorist was then killed in the army's retaliatory firing. After which 1 AK-47 and 4 magazines have been recovered from the spot. No information is yet on which organization these terrorists belong to. But according to locals, the number can be two to three. The army operation is still going on.
