Delhi high court granted interim bale to JNU student union president Kanhaiya Kumar on Wednesday regarding  sedition case against him. Court granted him bail with the bond of  Rs. 10000 and asked to cooperate with him.

Kanhaiya is likely to walk out from Tihar Jail on Thursday morning. There is option for Delhi police to approach Supreme court early morning before he is released.

Judge said, “ Investigation in the case ia at a nascent stage, the thoughts reflected in the slogans raised by some JNU students cannot be protected under fundamental right of speech and expression. I consider this as a kind of infection with which students are suffering which needs to be controlled/cured before it becomes an epidemic. During the period petitioner was in judicial custody, he might have introspected. To enable him to remain in the mainstream, I am inclined to provide conservation method of treatment. Hence, interim bail for 6 months.”

 There is lots of celebration is going on in JNU and Kanhaiya’s home town with his bale. His brother said, “ Full victory will only be after my brother is absolved of sedition charges. We are afraid and concerned about his security now”.

Kanhaiya was arrested for raining anti-national slogans in the JNU campus. He was arrested on 12 February and under the police custody till 17 February and later get the bail on 2 March.
