New Delhi: The performance of students in Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) is mainly about the increase in fees. Vice President Venkaiah Naidu has been invited as the chief guest on the occasion of convocation at the university today. Apart from this, Education Minister Ramesh Nishank Pokhriyal has also been called. But the students had a different plan.

Students started marching on foot in Vasant Kunj to increase the fees. During this, there was a clash with Delhi Police which came to stop the students. Not only this, the students did not stop here, they started protesting at the place of the convocation held in the university. It is known that JNU students have been on display for almost two weeks to increase the hostel and admission fee of JNU. In the initial stages, the students had raised objection to this decision through the students' union. In the days that followed, the students' movement started becoming fierce when no steps were taken by the administration.

Even before this, the students also surrounded the Vasant Kunj police station. JNU students demand that the new manual issued by the university administration be withdrawn soon and also the decision to increase the fee. He says that 40 per cent of the students taking admission in JNU come from very poor families, who cannot study for a hefty amount like big private universities and colleges.
