New Delhi: Students' protests against the violence and fee increase in Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) on Sunday are still going on. JNU students staged a massive protest in Delhi on Thursday, demanding the removal of Vice Chancellor M Jagdish Kumar. On Friday, a meeting was again held between HRD ministry officials and VC. The HRD secretary will address the press conference at 4 pm regarding this meeting.

After meeting the secretaries of HRD Ministry, JNU VC M. Jagdish Kumar said that the situation in the university is peaceful. The university will soon start doing the right thing and studies will start. We are constantly trying to help the students. On the demand for the resignation of VC M Jagdish Kumar of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), the HRD secretary said that our first and foremost priority is to restore normalcy on the university campus and end the communication gap between the two sides.

He further said that the institute is bigger than personality and JNU is a prestigious institution. He further said that the issue of removal of VC is not much bigger than bringing students back to academic activities. HRD Secretary Amit Khare said that both students and teachers have complaints and we are trying to solve their problems. We believe that there is a communication gap between them.
