Bollywood actor John Abraham has expressed his displeasure at BMC officials in Mumbai. BMC officials had allegedly put up such hoardings and distributed pamphlets stating that the coronavirus is spread due to stray and domesticated animals. According to media reports, about 17 civic bodies, including BMC, have distributed pamphlets and posters to the housing society, incorrectly stating that the coronavirus is being spread through animals.

After these posters, many people have reportedly left their pets in the city. John has become very angry with this and expressed strong displeasure with BMC on his social media handle. He said in his tweet, 'Animals neither have Covid 19 nor do they spread it. Please do not give wrong information to people. In response to John's tweet, BMC apologized and wrote, 'Sir, we apologize for the furore caused by pet owners due to our misinformation. We also love animals and so as soon as we got the right information about it, we have removed all the posters immediately. We pray that you too help us in spreading this message to the people and make Mumbai safe. Thank you. '

It is being told even in the reports that BMC vans with loud speakers were roaming in the city, in which people were also being warned to stay away from animals. When a citizen went to the van and told the BMC officer the guidelines of the WHO, the posters were already printed and after that new guidelines have come. PETA India, an organization working for animals, has also appealed to stop such news immediately so that cruelty to animals does not happen.
