The CIB Egyptian Squash open 2020 is happening from October 10 till October 17, 2020 in Cairo, Egypt. India's leading squash players Saurav Ghosal first player to reach world top 10 in April 2019 and Joshna Chinappa, first Asian Squash Champion form India by winning 2014 squash women’s doubles, first ever medal from the commonwealth in Squash are representing the Indian country in Squash open 2020. Ghosal and Chinnappa were happy about their success in Round one and Two after the six month lockdown.
During the lockdown, Ghosal and Chinappa were in Kolkata and Chennai respectively from March. Ghosal expressed his happiness in playing back. He explained the loss as the opponent took full advantage of Ghosal short back in the opening. World number 13 Ghosal beat 34th-ranked Englishman, Tom Richards, 11-9, 11-4, 11-1 in a Round 2 and World number 11 Chinappa dropped the first game against Scotland's Lisa Aitken made a 7-11, 11-4, 11-3, 11-6 win. The prize money to be awarded to the winner is $270,000 for Men and Women champions individually.
Joshna Chinnapa will face Egyptian Farida Mohammed and Saurav Ghosal will face Egyptian Mazen Hesham. Ghosal stays back in Egypt for Qatar Classic beginning on November 1 because of limited travel connectivity whereas Joshna Chinappa will be back at home after her Egyptian Open campaign.
