Lucknow: CM Yogi Adityanath has taken cognizance of the murder of reporter Ratan Singh of a news channel in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh. He has expressed deep condolences to the family members. The Chief Minister has directed to immediately give financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh to the victim's family, and orders to take strict action against the culprits.

After the murder of reporter Ratan Singh, on Tuesday afternoon, Uttar Pradesh Minister Anand Swaroop Shukla visited Ballia District Hospital. He said that "we are taking the case of brutally killing the reporter seriously. The Chief Minister will be requested to increase compensation and give his wife a job". According to the information received, a news channel reporter Ratan Singh's son Vinod Singh was shot dead by criminals at around 9.45 pm on Monday night. Due to this, he died on the spot.

On receiving the information, Superintendent of Police Devendra Nath, Additional Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar, CO Sadar Chandrakesh Singh, Pfina Police Station Shashimouli Pandey reached the spot. On the other hand, Additional Director General of Police Brij Bhushan said that the reporter Ratan Singh is murdered due to a dispute. This dispute was going on for eight months. This murder has nothing to do with journalism. Six people have been taken into custody in the case. Also, Additional Superintendent of Police Sanjay Yadav said that the police have taken six criminals into custody. This includes Sushil Singh, Sunil Singh, Arvind Singh, Vir Bahadur Singh, Dinesh Singh and Vinay Singh. The case is now being investigated.
