BHUBANESWAR: BJP President J P Nadda is scheduled to arrive Jharsuguda on Thursday on a 2-day visit to Odisha.

Nadda's arrival at Jharsuguda airport is scheduled for Thursday around 4 p.m. The BJP President will then proceed directly to the Jharsuguda district BJP office, where he will engage in discussions with senior leaders of the Bargarh Lok Sabha constituency, as informed by state BJP spokesperson Golak Mohapatra.

On the following day, Nadda will travel to Bhawanipatna in the Kalahandi district. His itinerary includes a visit to the sacred Maa Manikeswari temple, where he will offer prayers. Subsequently, the BJP President will deliver a keynote address at the Maha Jansampark Samabesh held at Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium in Bhawanipatna. During this rally, Nadda will present a comprehensive report card highlighting the accomplishments of the Modi government over the past nine years, stated Mohapatra.

Additionally, Nadda will have the opportunity to meet distinguished personalities and senior party leaders representing the Kalahandi Lok Sabha segment, further strengthening the party's network in the region.

Last month, the BJP initiated a nationwide campaign aimed at garnering support for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Party leaders, including ministers and parliamentarians, have been actively engaging with the people, including notable individuals, to seek their backing.

Originally scheduled for June 22, Nadda's visit to Kalahandi had to be postponed by one day due to unavoidable circumstances, as stated by the party.

In December of the previous year, Nadda had previously visited the state, where he addressed public meetings in Tumudibandha, under the Baliguda Assembly constituency of Kandhamal district, and Banpur, under the Chilika Assembly constituency. During his last visit, the BJP President criticized the Naveen Patnaik government, accusing it of running a 'duplicate sarkar' (duplicitous government). As the anticipation builds, all eyes are now focused on his forthcoming speech in Kalahandi.
