Nawab Mahabat Khan of Junagadh, who was fond of raising dogs, kept about 800 dogs. Not only this, separate rooms, servants and telephone arrangements were also kept for all these dogs. If a dog had lost its life, it would have been buried in the cemetery with all the rituals and mourning music would have been played along with the carcass. However, Nawab Mahabat Khan had the highest attachment among all these dogs to a female dog, whose name was Roshana. This hobby of Nawab Mahabat Khan has also been mentioned by noted historians Dominic Lopier and Larry Collins in their book 'Freedom at Midnight'. Mahabat Khan got Roshana married to a dog named Bobby with great pomp. In this marriage, the Nawab had spent more than 2 crores according to today's value.

During the wedding, Roshana was dressed in a gold necklace, bracelet and expensive clothes. Not only this, but 250 dogs from the Guard of Honor with the military band also welcomed them loudly at the railway station. Mahabat Khan invited the Viceroy, including all the King-Maharaja, to attend this wedding. But the Viceroy refused to come. More than one and a half lakh guests attended this wedding organized by Nawab Mahabat Khan. However, the money spent in this marriage could fulfil many needs of the then 6,20,000 population of Junagadh.
