Jammu: Tral area of Pulwama district was constantly in discussion due to terrorism but now its identity has changed. In the beginning of 2019, more than 30 terrorists were present here. At the same time, their number is reduced to just six. After the operation being carried out by the security forces, it is felt that this area will soon be terrorism free. The remaining terrorists are associated with Lashkar-Jaish, Hizbul and ISJK. Pulwama district of South Kashmir has been considered as a stronghold of terrorists for many years. Terrorists Burhan Wani, Sameer Tiger, Zakir Musa and Hamad Khan and the fidayeen Adil Bhatt of Pulwama attack were from this district. Everyone kept terrorist organizations alive for a long time. According to the Jammu and Kashmir Police, there are 18 terrorists active in Avantipora of the district. Most of them are hidden in Sambura and Pampore areas. After the security forces continue to tighten against the terrorists, the area of Tral is soon to be terror free.

It is being said that the plot of Pulwama attack was also planned in Tral. Adil Bhatt, who carried out this attack, also came out from this area to carry out the attack. On 25 January 2020, security forces killed Qari Yasir, the last mastermind in the operation, along with two other accomplices. After this, Jaish was completely eliminated from the area. According to officials associated with the security forces, local recruitment in terrorism has also been affected after the killing of Qari Yasir, Hamad Khan and Hameed Lalhari.

According to the information received, it has been learned that the top terrorists along with Jaish, Lashkar and Hizbul have been killed. This has broken the back of the terrorists. 119 terrorists are active in four districts of South Kashmir, Pulwama, Shopian, Kulgam and Anantnag. 90 percent of it is local while 10 percent is foreign. After the withdrawal of 370, 14 militants have been killed in six encounters in Avantipora.
