Bhopal: The 17-day turmoil in Madhya Pradesh's politics ended on Friday. CM Kamal Nath resigned from the post of CM of the state while giving a press talk from the CM residence in the capital Bhopal at 12 noon. The Congress came to power in the state after nearly 15 years of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) rule. This government has been able to run for only 15 months.

Addressing the press conference, CM Kamal Nath, not taking the name of Jyotiraditya Scindia, said that a Maharaja and his 22 MLAs together conspired against our government. While tweeting on the resignation of Kamal Nath, Jyotiraditya Scindia wrote, 'Today the people have won in Madhya Pradesh. I have always believed that politics should be the medium of public service, but the state government deviated from this path. Truth again triumphed. Satyameva Jayate.'

On Thursday, the top court had ordered the Kamal Nath government of the state to conduct a majority of tests by 5 pm on Friday. However, before this, CM Kamal Nath announced his resignation. On the other hand, on Thursday night itself, the assembly speaker accepted the resignation of 16 rebel MLAs.
