At the age of 13, Keshav Avara's father Pandit Baliram Pant Hedgewar and mother Revatibai passed away from the plague and were then raised by both elder brothers Mahadev Pant and Sitaram Pant.

Keshav Awas (Baliram Hedgewar) is said to have greeted some of his classmates with "Vande Mataram" to English Inspector's School. The Inspector got angry and expelled  Keshav Rao from the school. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has directly associated with the Hindu idea Dhara and the RSS branches are prevalent all over the country. Millions are associated with the Hindu Sangh.
