MUMBAI: Maharashtra BJP MLA Vijay Kumar Deshmukh has been threatened by the banned extremist organization Popular Front of India (PFI) with 'Sar Tan Se Juda'. This incident happened at a time when action was taken against PFI across the country last month. Let us tell you that some time ago the government has banned the organization for the subversive activities of PFI. Investigating agencies found that the PFI has links with terrorist groups like ISIS and Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB). The government took this decision on the basis of the reports of the agencies.

In his complaint to the police, BJP MLA Vijay Deshmukh said that PFI leader Mohd Shafi Birajdar threatened to kill him by beheading him out of anger over the ban imposed on the organization by the government. This threat has been given through a letter. Solapur police are probing the veracity of the letter. The complaint further said that the PFI member has threatened to target major Hindu temples like Ram temple in Ayodhya and Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi in Mathura by suicide bombers. The criminals also said that many leaders like PM Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Adityanath Yogi are also on their radar.

In the letter that surfaced, it is written, "Now the real war has started. Infidels, the wrong thing that your leader Modi has done (by imposing sanctions), everyone will have to bear the consequences. Your government had banned our SIMI earlier also. What was the result of that, Fail? You put lakhs of effort into our PFI, then we will emerge like 'Phoenix'.'' The letter sent by PFI further read, ''You guys have set foot on the tail of a poisonous snake like us. Now our house-to-house child will not sit silent. Every house Kasab, Afzal, Yusuf, and Yakub will come out. Know this." Due to the anti-national activities of PFI, on 22 September 2022, the Government of India banned it and 8 other organizations associated with it under UAPA for 5 years. Organizations that were banned include Rehab India Foundation (RIF), Campus Front of India (CFI), All India Imam Council (AIIC), National Confederation of Human Rights Organisations (NCHRO), National Women's Front (NWF), Junior Front (JF), Empower India (EI).
