New Delhi: Delhi Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena has expressed his displeasure by writing a letter to the Chief Minister of the state Arvind Kejriwal. Expressing displeasure over the words being used against him, Lieutenant Governor Saxena has said that Kejriwal and his ministers are crossing the limits. In a six-page letter, the LG has said that the Chief Minister and his allies are not only crossing the limits of dignity but also running away from constitutional duties and responsibilities of governance. At the same time, while tweeting about LG's letter, CM Kejriwal has written that 'Today another love letter has arrived.'

Describing the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government as a government run by advertisements, LG has said that false and personal allegations are leveled against them if they expose the shortcomings of the government. The LG has written in his letter that, 'Your governance system running on the basis of advertisements and speeches seems to be completely alienated from the fundamental works of public interest. It is a matter of regret that while conveying these shortcomings, when I requested for their redressal, you and your colleagues not only misled people by not responding on those subjects, but also made habitually baseless and personal allegations.'

Lieutenant Governor Saxena has said that whatever issues he has raised were related to the good governance and well being of the general public of Delhi. He said that it is his duty as the constitutional guardian of Delhi. The LG has also reminded that the Constitution and the decisions given by the courts from time to time make them empowered and bound to do so.

In the letter, the Lt Governor mentioned all the issues that led AAP leaders to target him. LG said that this is being done under a well thought out policy. He wrote that, 'You (Kejriwal) and your allies first make baseless and false allegations, air these allegations through media and social media and then run away. When the facts come to the fore, you apologise with a blasphemy. However, by then irreparable damage to the accused person and your political gain has been done in the public domain.

The LG further wrote in its letter that, 'You made similar unfounded allegations against former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and former Union Minister Kapil Sibal and former Punjab Minister Vikram Singh Majithia and later apologized. Against me too your colleague has made a malafide attempt to create an atmosphere of mistrust through the media and social media by making highly objectionable, fabricated and baseless allegations to divert from the issues.
