Raipur: On the occasion of Kartik Purnima, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel reached Mahadev Ghat in the capital Raipur early in the morning and took a bath in the Kharun river and wished happiness and prosperity to the people of the state. The CM congratulated everyone on the occasion of Punni Mela. Chief Minister Mr Baghel offered prayers at the historic Hatkeshwar Mahadev Temple on the banks of the river after taking a Kartik bath in the Kharun river and prayed for the development of the state. CM Baghel participated in the Ganga Aarti program and donated a lamp. During this, many people were also present since morning.

On this occasion, he said that religious, cultural and social traditions are discharged here. On the occasion of Punni Mela, people from all the surrounding villages come here today. Punni Mela is our ancient tradition, part of the tradition of our villages and cities of Chhattisgarh. In the month of Kartik, there has been a tradition of bathing in the morning and offering water to Shiva. From today, the fair starts in the ghats of the villages. He said that today is also the auspicious day of Prakash Parv. It is the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Ji, who has an old relationship with Chhattisgarh. We have also decided to develop Garhfuljhar in Mahasamund district, the site of their association, as a tourist destination.  

CM Baghel said that last year, the development of the ghat of the Kharun river was announced. Now the work of development of ghat will start with the provision in the budget. In our state, farmer brothers have started harvesting paddy. Paddy procurement has also started from November 1. Farmer brothers are selling paddy at a support price and they are also being paid on time. Before Diwali, we have also given the third instalment of the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana. He said that recently, with the aim of preserving the culture and tradition of Chhattisgarh, we also organized the National Tribal Dance Festival on the occasion of Rajyotsav. We are constantly working for education, health and employment as well as for the preservation and development of our culture. In which the people of the state have a share. Parliamentary Secretary Vikas Upadhyay, Gau Seva Aayog Chairman Mahant Ram Sunder Das and Advisor to CM Pradeep Sharma were present on the occasion.
