Vikram, a movie starring Kamal Haasan, ended yet another successful week at the box office and continues to captivate viewers in theatres. The movie concluded its third week in theatres with revenue of around Rs 39 crore, bringing its overall revenue in India to Rs 276 crores. The movie crossed this mythical amount globally some time ago and is now getting close to Rs 300 crores in India. With a global total of around Rs 400 crores, the movie is the second-highest-grossing "Kollywood" film.
The movie had a successful first week, earning Rs. 164.75 crores. It generated a total revenue of Rs. 72.50 crores in the second week. On July 8, the movie will also be available on Disney+Hotstar, an OTT service. Four languages-- Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam--will be used for the world premiere.
The lead actors of the Lokesh Kanagaraj-directed film "Vikram" are Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi, and Fahadh Faasil. In supporting parts, actors Chemban Vinod Jose, Kalidas Jayaram, Narain, Antony Varghese, and Arjun Das also appear in the movie. The movie is a spiritual successor of the same-named movie from 1986. It centres on a Black Ops police team's quest to identify a group of masked assassins. In the movie, Haasan portrays Arun Kumar, a RAW agent. He can be violent and cruel when dealing with crooks. The movie's antagonist is portrayed by Vijay Sethupathi.
The movie debuted in theatres on June 3 and was produced by Haasan and Mahendran under the name "Raaj Kamal Films International."
