The Mumbai police have recently summoned actress Kangana Ranaut in a defamation case filed by noted writer-lyricist Javed Akhtar. An official has given the information in this regard. Talking about the case, the police official said, "Kangana has been asked to appear before Juhu police on Friday.''

Javed Akhtar had lodged a complaint with the actress for allegedly making defamation and baseless remarks against her in television interviews. The complaint was lodged before the Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate in the month of November last year. In fact, Javed Akhtar has claimed that Kangana had dragged his name in Bollywood in TV interviews after the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput in June last year.

In the case, the complaint alleged that Kangana had falsely claimed that Akhtar had threatened to keep quiet about his alleged relationship with Hrithik Roshan. Further, the complaint also says that it has damaged the public image of Akhtar. Well, let us also tell you that the court had given time till February 17 to the police to submit an inquiry report in the case.
