Dehradun: Angry over Padma Shree Award-winning actress Kangana Ranaut's statement about the country's independence in 2014, Uttarakhand Mahila Congress has filed a complaint in the police station and demanded registration of a case. While giving a complaint, Mahila Congress President Rashmi Chaudhary, who reached Roorkee Civil Lines Kotwali, has termed this statement of Kangana as seditious and provocative. She told that Kangana can go to any extent to grab headlines and her real face has been exposed today.

Kangana has disrespected those brave sons, who had sacrificed their lives laughingly to make India independent. She said that Kangana has disrespected Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad, Mahatma Gandhi and Rani Laxmi Bai and has also disrespected the lakhs of people who lost their lives in the freedom struggle. She said that a case of sedition should be registered against the actress.

At the same time, like the country's largest state UP, there has been a demand to give 40 per cent tickets to women in Uttarakhand Congress. Mahila Congress's National General Secretary Anupama Rawat has also advocated this before the top leadership. Anupama Rawat has told that Priyanka Gandhi, the party's senior leader in UP, has strongly advocated 40 per cent of tickets be given to women. Uttarakhand Mahila Congress also advocates this a lot. In the upcoming assembly elections in Uttarakhand, 40 per cent of tickets should be given to women.
