Even after having sent an assault and exploitation complaint via e-mail and initiating an inquiry against Bollywood actor Aditya Pancholi, Kangana Ranaut and her sister, Rangoli Chandel, are yet to record their statements in the case.

As per Versova Police, despite several reminders since the application was sent to the actress and her sister, the two have not come forward to record their statements. A mid-day report quoted police sources as saying, "A fresh reminder was sent to the actress after she returned from the Cannes film festival."

On the condition of anonymity, a police official told the tabloid, "A couple of days ago we tried to reach her manager and the complainant as well, but there was a response."

Pancholi alleged that he was threatened with a rape case in January when the meeting with the lawyer took place. "Without recording the victim's statement, we cannot register a case to investigate the matter further. We have requested the victim to record her statement whenever possible. We are also ready to send our team to her residence because a crime against women has always been dealt with utmost priority," a senior police officer further told the tabloid.

Kangana's sister, in her application to the police, has alleged that the accused actor abused and exploited the victim 13 years ago when she was a newcomer in the industry. Serious allegations were levelled against Pancholi's wife Zaina Wahab also by the A-list actress in public, following which the couple filed a criminal defamation case against her.
