Rangoli said the name of the person who attacked me is Avinash Sharma. He used to study with me in college, we had only one friend circle, he proposed to me, then I stopped talking to him because I did not have the same feeling, he told people that one day he will marry me.

Rangoli has further said that "when the parents married me to the Air Force Officer, he became very stubborn after my marriage. When I retaliated, he threw acid on me, I put such threats aside and never told my parents or even went to the police, it was the biggest mistake of my life. Rangoli spoke openly to the people and said, I used to share PG with four girls, a young man came there and asked my friend Vijay about me. When I opened the gate, I saw that he had a jug in his hand and in a second he hurled it on me". The film Chhapak is scheduled to release on January 10 and Deepika Padukone is playing the role of an acid attack survivor in the film.
