Priyanka Gandhi also became emotional seeing the tears of the victim's mother. According to media reports that emerged, Priyanka Gandhi reached near the NLC outpost at Babupurwa while holding a roadshow. Meanwhile, the victim's mother of the MSc student's murder came in front of her car in Rail Bazaar. Seeing the poster demanding justice for the daughter and the hanging of the killers, Priyanka stopped the car. After that, she hugged the victim's mother, so she started crying. During this time, for about five minutes, the victim's mother kept crying in her arm. On the other hand, the victim's family told Priyanka Gandhi that her daughter was an MSc student.

On December 29, her classmate Somnath Gautam, along with his two accomplices Satyam Maurya and Ravendra, gang-raped her daughter. After which the accused killed her daughter. She further stated that after that the victim's mother demanded a CBI inquiry into the case and the execution of the accused. On which she gave her her mobile number after listening to the whole thing of the victim's mother. She talked about the Congress party lobbying for the case.
