One of the most loved movies of this year Kantara breaks all the records at Box office. The small-budget movie became a pan-India film because of its story. Kantara has already made Rishab Shetty a global superstar.  Now the actor-director has received a another honor. As per the information Rishabh Shetty is being presented with the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2023 for Most Promising Actor. The actor received this honor for playing the character of Kambala Champion in the 2022 film in film.

Rishab Shetty in a recent event expressed gratitude towards audiences for showering so much love on the film. “We are very pleased and thankful to the audience who had shown immense love and support to Kantara and taking the journey ahead, with the blessing of almighty Daiva the film has successfully completed 100 days,” he had said.

Rishabh also shares details about part 2. He said, “What you have seen is actually Part 2, Part 1 will come next year. The idea came to my mind while I was shooting for Kantara. It is because the history of Kantara has more depth to it. Currently, we are in the middle of digging into more details. As the research is still underway, it would be very early to reveal details about the film.”

Speaking about Kantara, which translates to the mystical forest, tells the story of a local demigod (Bhoota) who trades forest land to the tribe’s people with a king in 1870 in exchange for happiness. Many years later, when the king’s son grows greedy and wants the land back, he dies due to the wrath of Bhoota. Set in the fictional village of Dakshina Kannada, Kantara follows a Kambala champion, played by Rishab, who comes to loggerheads with an upright Forest Range officer, Murali (Kishore).
