New Delhi: Team India has started its T20 World Cup 2022 mission well. In the very first warm-up match, India defeated defending champion Australia. Now Team India has to play the second warm-up match against New Zealand. This time Team India is being considered a strong contender for the World Cup title, but the prediction of 1983 World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev is saying something different.

Former all-rounder cricketer Kapil Dev has predicted that this time even if Team India reaches the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup, it will be a big deal. Kapil Dev said that the chances of Team India reaching the semi-finals are very less. The chance of the Indian team reaching the top 4 is only 30 per cent. Kapil has also given the reason for this prediction. Kapil Dev said in an event in Lucknow, 'What else do you want in your team besides all-rounders, who give you match-winners not only in the World Cup but also in other tournaments or series. A cricketer like Hardik Pandya will be very useful for India.'

The former captain said 'All-rounders are the key players of any team. They are the strength of the team. An all-rounder like Hardik gives Rohit Sharma (captain) the option of using him as the sixth bowler. He is also a good batsman, bowler and fielder. Ravindra Jadeja is also a great all-rounder of Team India.'

He said that first let Team India reaches the semi-finals, only then whether it will be able to win the title or not, we should talk about it. Kapil Dev said, 'Even in our days, there were many all-rounders in the Indian team. In T20 cricket, if one team wins a match, the other can also lose. In such a situation, it would be meaningless to talk about the chances of Team India winning the World Cup.'
