In the lockdown on Wednesday, the Karnataka government announced a relief package, taking care of those trapped due to the epidemic. In this package, it has been said to give Rs 1,610 crore. The State Chief Minister Yeddyurappa also said that funds have been given to barber, driver and gardener who have suffered loss due to the lockdown. According to the Ministry of Health, till Wednesday, the total cases of infection in Karnataka were 671, out of which 331 people have become healthy and 29 people have died.

Chief Minister of Karnataka Yeddyurappa has announced to give five thousand rupees for the driver and barber community of the state. There are about 7,75,000 drivers and 2,30,000 barbers in the entire state who will get the benefit of this relief package. The Chief Minister further informed that our government has sent about one lakh people back to their homes with 3500 buses and trains. He said, 'I have appealed to the migrant laborers to stop in Karnataka because the construction work has now started again.'

Rajasthan government struggling with debt burden

Chief Ministers of Congress-ruled states on Wednesday appealed to the Center for financial help. During the meeting headed by the interim president of Congress, Sonia Gandhi, on behalf of Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh demanded financial assistance for the economic loss caused by Covid-19. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that due to the epidemic there has been a loss of crores of rupees, so the states are in dire need of the package while Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that they need immediate financial help from the Center.
