New Delhi: The world's largest vaccination campaign is going on in India, which has now been started for the general public as well. On Tuesday, a 103-year-old woman took the first dose of the corona vaccine in Bengaluru, along with Jay Kameshwari became India's oldest woman to take the vaccine. According to data provided by the Ministry of Health, 2.40 crore people have been vaccinated in corona vaccination nationwide so far. The figures were shared by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Tuesday.
The central government is emphasizing intensifying the corona vaccination campaign in the states as the government has started the second phase of vaccination from March 1. In this phase, people over 60 years of age and over 45 years of age with severe illnesses can register the corona vaccine and receive a dose. According to an official release, according to the provisional report that came up at 7 pm on Tuesday, a total of 2,40,37,644 vaccine doses were given in the country.
The report said. These include 71,13,801 health care workers (HCWs) who have taken the first dose and 38,51,808 HCWs have taken the second dose, 69,02,006 front line workers (FLWs) who have taken the first dose, and 4,44,199 FLWs who have taken the second dose. Have dosed, 8,00,287 beneficiaries aged over 45 and 49,25,543 beneficiaries above 60 years have been vaccinated.
